What to Wear
Setai guests are provided with a robe and slippers as well as lounge pants and t-shirts for added comfort during your visit. You will be provided with a locker for your personal belongings. During your treatment, it is recommended that you experience body services without clothing. Our therapists are professionally trained and will ensure a level of decorum by an appropriate draping over your body during your treatment for maximum privacy and comfort.
Appropriate Arrival Time
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your treatment to allow ample time to register and unwind in our Aquagrotto including aromatherapy steam, Finnish sauna and therapeutic mineral water pool. We also invite you to please enjoy our tea suite and lounge pre- and post-treatment.
Late Arrival Time – Spa Cancellation Policy
If a late arrival is unavoidable, please notify the receptionist as soon as possible so we can try to adjust your treatment time. Please be advised that should we not be able to adjust your itinerary, we must complete your personal service by the designated end-time in order to appropriately accommodate the next guest. Your appointment is reserved especially for you. Should you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask that you notify us 24 hours in advance in order to avoid a charge for the full value of your scheduled treatments.
Treatment Selection
A full menu of treatment offerings is listed on our website and service brochure. Should you need assistance in choosing a service, we encourage you to speak with one of our knowledgeable guest relations associates who can assist you in deciding between specific types of treatments offered depending on whether your goal is relaxation or more therapeutic in nature.
Special Health Considerations
If you have health concerns or are pregnant, please be sure to notify our staff when reserving your treatments. Massage therapies cannot be performed on first trimester (up to 12 weeks) mothers-to-be. Our guest relations staff can offer guidance as to which treatments will be the most beneficial and those that should be avoided due to physical limitations or sensitivity. Our Aquagrotto facilities are a beneficial feature of the Setai Spa experience, but should always be used in moderation. Proper usage time will vary, but there are some general guidelines that most individuals who are in good health can follow. Please follow the listed safety regulations and monitor your tolerance level of the steam, sauna and mineral pools accordingly.
Shaving
Generally, shaving is not recommended prior to any treatments or hair removal services. It is, however, recommended that men shave at least two hours prior to their facial experience.
Personal Preferences
Whether it is the room temperature, music preference or the level of massage pressure, please communicate your preferences while securing your reservations, or with your therapist so that we can make your time with us a personal and comfortable experience. Please feel free to request for either a male or female therapist for your treatment. Please note that all of our therapists are professionally trained, NY State certified treatment providers and will offer you the highest standard of service and privacy with continuous consideration for your comfort level.
Gratuities – Payment
Our staff is dedicated to exceeding your expectations and creating a memorable experience. Gratuities for these efforts are greatly appreciated and can be either given directly to the staff member, or extended at the reception desk in either cash or on your charge card. Standard practice for excellent service ranges from a 15-20% gratuity. However, the final choice is always up to you. We accept American Express, MasterCard, and Visa as well as traveler's checks and cash.
Age Minimum
Guests must be at least 18 years of age to experience treatment without parental guidance. If under 18, guests must be accompanied by a guardian and can only have treatments performed by the therapist of the same gender. Guests under the age of 18 require a parental waiver and service is at the discretion of the Spa Director.
Feedback
We value your feedback both positive and constructive. If for any reason your experience at the Setai Spa has not met your expectations, we encourage you to speak with the Spa Director or Manager on Duty before leaving the facility. You are also always welcome to call or email the Spa Director to share your valuable feedback any time at your convenience.
